In Amaravati, Pawan Kalyan hits the road for Amaravati

Pawan Kalyan has thrown his weight behind the agitating farmers in Amaravati who had given their land to build the capital of Andhra Pradesh. With the Jaganmohan Reddy government considering reducing Amaravati to just the Legislative capital and moving the administrative paraphernalia to Visakhapatnam, farmers are upset.

“The farmers gave their land to the Andhra Pradesh government and not to any political party,” said Pawan as he hit the road. The Jana Sena chief was stopped by the police at Krishnayapalem due to security reasons. The actor-turned-politician chose to then make the road his protest site with his supporters and farmers swarming around him.

“Already Telangana is bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh. How many more regional disputes we want to create,” asked Pawan referring to the proposal to have three capitals for three regions of Andhra Pradesh.
