For long, the release date of Venky Mama has been a subject of speculation in the Telugu film industry and among Venkatesh fans. Even though producer Suresh Babu had told Filter Kaapi last month (see interview above) that the consensus is around 13 December since it happened to be Venkatesh’s birthday and the production house had never released a Venky movie on that date, it was not made official.

Finally it was confirmed via a quirky promo featuring Rana Daggubati. (see below) Venkatesh is his uncle while Naga Chaitanya is his cousin.

This date will mean Venky Mama, a family comedy, like most of Venkatesh’s films, will have a clear run till the Christmas films come rushing into the theatres. The movie also stars Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput.
