One word for Rajinikanth’s Chumma Kizhi : It is a RIOT

For years, it was a tradition that only SP Balasubramanhyam would sing for Rajinikanth. It later became restricted to the introduction song. With `Darbar’, the Rajini-SPB combo is back, courtesy music composer Anirudh. And the song track is a riot.

Though reminiscent of the lilt of `Balleilekka’ from `Sivaji’, the chorus led by Anirudh add to the SPB’s raising the heroic template of Rajinikanth as cop Aaditya Arunasalam in `Darbar’. It is peppy and truly massy, keeping with Rajini’s popular image.

Its highlight is Rajinikanth mouthing `Chumma Kizhi’ at the end of the song. The audio track that has been released has the Superstar showering praise on the composer.

Darbar is a Pongal release directed by AR Murugadoss and also stars Nayanthara and Nivetha Thomas.
