Even though the corridors of power knew the real reasons for the fallout between Jaganmohan Reddy and LV Subramanyam pertained to administrative matters, a mischievous campaign gained currency that the Chief Secretary was removed for his anti-Christian decisions. LVS had issued orders to ensure no non-Hindus were employed at Hindu places of worship including Tirumala. The impression sought to be made was that Jagan being a practising Christian, did not take kindly to the decisions.
In order to ensure that such rumour-mongering did not gain currency through social media platforms, Ramana Deekshitulu, the former chief priest of the Tirumala temple who was unceremoniously forced out of his post last year by the Chandrababu Naidu regime, was almost immediately appointed as the Advisor of Agama Sastra to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
This is to show that the Jagan government is not anti-Hindu. And in return, Ramana Deekshitulu has given interviews that he will pray for Jagan to remain CM of Andhra Pradesh for the next 30 years.
Former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao has however, wondered why Ramana Deekshitulu was not brought back as chief priest, pointing out that it was the promise made to him. Krishna Rao is now with the BJP.
