Will he, won’t he? Pawan Kalyan’s re-entry into the world of celluloid has been the subject of much social media discussion. This is more so because in the run-up to the elections in April, the Jana Sena chief had said he was never interested in tinsel town and ruled out a second innings.
But now it looks like Pawan will don greasepaint once again. His nephew Ram Charan has dropped hints that he would be more than willing to produce a Pawan-starrer. But while the Powerstar is reportedly listening to scripts, he will no longer do a Sardar Gabbar Singh or Badri kind of movies. In keeping with his political image, it has to be a role with social messaging.

Which is why the Telugu remake of `Pink’ is high on the wishlist. Amitabh Bachchan had played the role of the lawyer in the original. Not only will this not need much time in terms of travel since it is essentially a courtroom drama, it will also position Pawan as a champion of women’s rights. The Tamil remake starring Ajith received critical acclaim.
Telugu360 reports that a period drama too could be on the cards and this one could be directed by Krish. The hiccup in this is Pawan’s back pain that has put him in a lot of discomfort of late. Pawan incidentally had lent his voice to elder brother Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a period film set in the 1840s.
