On Saturday, K Productions announced on Twitter that it will unveil the first look of 1945 on Diwali evening. Lead actor Rana Daggubati took to the microblogging site accusing the producers of defaulting on monies and completion.
“This is an unfinished film the producer,” he wrote adding “Haven’t met them for over a year. This is his idea of raising money in the markets by cheating more people. Pls don’t entertain this.”
Nothing could be more damaging for a yet to be released movie than the lead star, damning it in public. Producer SN Rajarajan clarified that 60 days of shoot and crores of rupees have been sunk into the movie.
“The Director is the one who decides whether the film is complete or not. Let the audience decide whether this film is complete or not … Nobody will release an unfinished movie,” he tweeted, to which Rana responded with a thumbs up emoticon.
The first look poster showed Rana as an INA soldier who takes part in India’s war of independence. The question is whether things have been sorted out and Rana will promote the film or will it be a half-baked attempt at freedom from the cans in which it has been stuck for three years.
The film has been slated for a Republic Day week release on 24 January 2020.
