As the new team led by Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah is about to take charge at the BCCI, Tenali Rama has learnt that the former Indian captain has set a few ground rules. The left-handed batsman has said that the Committee of Administrators (CoA) will no longer decide matters concerning cricket.

“I will take the DRS. This DRS is Dada Review System,” Ganguly is reported to have told his team. The two members with BJP connections – Jay Shah (Amit Shah’s son) and Arun Dhumal (Anurag Thakur’s brother) – have concurred while adding one caveat.

“This DRS is acceptable to us provided at no stage, it becomes Didi Review System. My papa will do Didi’s review in the Bengal elections,” said Jay Shah.

According to a press release issued by the BCCI, Jay Shah received a congratulatory call from Team India coach Ravi Shastri who told him, “Congratulations Jaybhai. You did very well. I had expected the BCCI election to go down to The Wire.”

Sources in the Jay Shah camp say he is planning to file a defamation suit against Shastri in a Gujarat court. When Shastri heard about it, he is reported to have confided in Virat Kohli that he did not expect a rap on the knuckles.

Shah has also decided that the target for the Indian team in the calender year 2020 will be to score 16000 runs across all three formats. The target per quarter prepared on an excel sheet has been e-mailed to Shastri and Kohli.

Meanwhile Ganguly was horrified by the sight of the overgrown grass at the lawns of the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. The new chief has asked the gardeners to trim the grass in the lawns immediately.

“I am surprised that when I am opening the innings, I am greeted by the sight of a green top. Please remove the grass, both here and at the Nagpur office. I don’t mind the rough. I can handle it,” he told the gardening team.
