It is a sign of the times we live in that even the private has to be expressed in public. In the face of rumours that popular Tamil veteran actor Sivakumar and his family that consists of three prominent actors – Suriya, his wife Jyothika and brother Karthi – are atheists, the actor has been compelled to release a video refuting them.
Sivakumar says : “There are millions and millions of people in India who worship Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Murugan, Vinayaka, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Kamakshi and Meenakshi and many others who worship Allah and Jesus Christ. God has no form and does not discriminate between male and female and God is to experienced and not be debated as said by Mahatma Gandhi. But he too said the words “Hey Ram” when he died, clearly indicating that whom he worshipped. I am a God fearing man and my father was a devotee of Murugan who used to fast for every Krithikai and travel to Pazhani and recite the entire songs of Thirupughazh there. The puja room has the photographs of all Gods.”
Sivakumar also said that he had narrated the Ramayana and Mahabharata non-stop for two hours in front of a crowd of 5000 people and that people can check out the videos on YouTube.
