TRS leader defaces Hyderabad walls to congratulate KTR

The writing on the wall is clear. Sycophancy is the name of the game.

Which is why TRS leader Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav decided to plaster the city with posters congratulating KT Rama Rao for his induction into the Telangana council of ministers. Sai Kiran Yadav is the son of the Telangana Animal Husbandry minister and an ardent follower of KTR, who is also the TRS Working president. Much to everyone’s surprise, Sai Kiran Yadav had bagged the ticket to contest from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency even though he had not fought any election before but lost to G Kishan Reddy of the BJP.

Social activist Harish Daga tweeted the pictures of the defacement, asking if the mighty and the powerful from the ruling party won’t have to pay fines. What was ironic about the defacement was that it cocks a snook at what KTR is meant to do as Municipal Administration minister – keep the city clean. As per law, an amount of Rs 2000 is slapped on the offender for each wall poster.

Later in the day, Yadav apologised for the posters while deftly passing on the blame for pasting the posters on to others. He tweeted : “I apologise. I take complete responsibility and shall ask for penalty from concerned. Shall not repeat, thank u for pointing out and I hope you shall continue doing so in the interest of the city.”

In the past, KTR had asked party activists not to put up hoardings for his birthday to greet him.

Yadav was in the news also for gaining easy access to the farewell function for former Governor ESL Narasimhan at the CM’s official residence in Hyderabad. This when ruling party MLAs like Padma Devender Reddy, incidentally the former Deputy Speaker of the Telangana Assembly, were turned away by the police.
