[Video] Should your MP behave like this, Mr CM?

It is not even three months since several leaders got elected as MPs on the YSR Congress ticket. But one of them, an inspector-turned-politician has already started throwing his weight around.

On 8 August, at the KIA motors unveiling of its new car Seltos, Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav made an issue about not being invited to the dais. A picture of him wagging his index figure at a senior KIA official went viral.

Then when the dignitaries were asked to express their best wishes on the bonnet of the new car, he embarrassed them by pointing out that the plant in Anantapur offered nothing in terms of jobs to the local youth.

“Car roll out … our young people ruled out here,” he wrote.

Madhav was drawing attention to the 75 per cent reservation for locals that has been introduced by the Jaganmohan Reddy government. What he did not seem to know is that this plant has been in operation from the time that Chandrababu Naidu was CM.

The next day, ironically, Jagan met diplomats of 26 countries, wooing them to get industry leaders from their countries to invest in Andhra Pradesh.
If they were to see the behaviour one of Jagan’s lawmakers, they would surely get second thoughts.

The last one heard, Jagan had taken note of Madhav’s conduct and will give him a piece of his mind.

Incidentally, Madhav was with the chief minister when he called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on 6 August. His posture with his hand inside his pocket in the group photograph (extreme right of photograph) also has come in for criticism. Ironical considering his training in the uniformed force where such body language before a superior would have fetched him a memo.
