Three days before the multi-lingual `Dear Comrade’ will release in the Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada market, it has gone under the hammer for a Hindi remake. And the person who has bagged the rights is Karan Johar of Dharma Productions.
Johar saw the movie and was reportedly impressed, particularly the second half of the film. And after the reception to Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda’s films are clearly hot property in Mumbai.
Dear Comrade, a film with political shades, is the love story of Bobby and Lilly over a period of time. Johar’s decision to buy the rights to the film and his tweet giving the movie a thumbs up will only increase the hype around the movie ahead of its release.
Will Vijay be part of the Hindi remake as well, doing what a Prabhas is doing with Saaho post the success of Baahubali. Vijay’s tweet where he told Karan Johar “Can’t wait to do something mad with you and Dharma Movies” made it seem he will be doing the Hindi remake. But he has clarified that he will not be part of the remake but would look forward to doing another script, a Telugu-Hindi bilingual.
