Actor Parineeti Chopra is pretty candid about how she is preparing to play badminton player Saina Nehwal in the biopic, to be directed by Amole Gupte. During an impromptu question and answer session on Saturday, Parineeti told Filter Kaapi that mastering the typical Saina shots are tough.
“She has been playing for more than 15 years, me just 3 weeks,” Parineeti replied.
Parineeti has time till September to get her badminton right as the shooting starts in October. It has been a tough gruel as is obvious from the photographs the actor has been posting on her social media handles. Her schedule runs through the day and that has also meant following the appropriate sportsperson diet.
“Lots of energy giving food so that I can play and work out. But also light so that we can cut fat and get lean muscle,” Parineeti said.
The chirpy actor has also been devoting a significant amount of time to watch Saina’s match footage and videos of her public appearances to get the body language right, both on and off the court.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Manav Kaul will play Pullela Gopichand in the Saina biopic. Shraddha Kapoor had earlier been pencilled in to play Saina but the actor dropped out because of her inability to practise her badminton in between her other shoot schedules.
The only entertainment break, so to say, for Parineeti has been to do her version of the #BottleCapChallenge.
