On American soil, Pawan Kalyan takes a dig at Jagan

Fifteen minutes. Yes, 15 minutes is all that Pawan Kalyan reportedly took to recover from the disappointment of his Jana Sena party’s defeat in the elections in Andhra Pradesh. Pawan chose to make this disclosure at the conference organised by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) in Washington DC.

Making a reference to his movies, Pawan said he had tasted more failures than success in Tollywood.

“I did not have a single hit after Kushi. It was only with Gabbar Singh that I saw success again. So failures are not new to me. When I lost in the elections, I was depressed for just 15 minutes and then I forgot about it. I know how to face defeat. Failure takes you closer to success,” said Pawan

The Jana Sena chief chose the TANA conference take a sly dig at Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy while holding forth on his ability to have patience.

“When people who have gone to jail do not have any issues, why would I who has not scammed, will not have the courage to speak the truth,” he said.

His close to half hour long speech was peppered with references to Nelson Mandela and Thomas Edison, the underlying narrative being that “chance favours the prepared mind”.

Back home, the Jana Sena has gone into hibernation after winning just one seat in the Andhra Pradesh assembly and it will need a lot of work to get the party apparatus up and running once again.
