Virat Kohli and Virat Kohli are in England for the Cricket World Cup

Virat Kohli is in England for the Cricket World Cup. Both in flesh and blood and in wax.

Madame Tussauds in London chose to unveil its Virat Kohli figure at the Lord’s cricket ground. This one is dressed in the official Indian cricket kit including shoes and gloves donated by the Indian skipper himself. From 30 May, this Virat will be found in the company of legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Usain Bolt in the sporting area of the museum.

“Lord’s is the perfect backdrop to reveal this fantastic figure of Virat Kohli on the eve of the Cricket World Cup. The anticipation of the exciting summer of cricket has already started, with thousands of visitors coming to the Ground and enjoying a tour of Lord’s and around the MCC Museum. The figure of the famous batsman will delight any cricket fan visiting Madame Tussauds, London,” said Tarah Cunynghame, Head of Retail & Tours at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Incidentally, only on Wednesday in his column in `The Times of India’, Gautam Gambhir, former India batsman who scored 97 in the final of the 2011 World Cup which India won, wrote : “I am not sure if Madame Tussauds, London has a statue of Virat Kohli. The one in New Delhi has him. It’s a brilliant job but it misses Virat’s intensity; the energy in his pose is not there.”
