Actor Riteish Deshmukh embarrassed officials incharge of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad by posting a video on his Twitter timeline on Monday.
The video showed the only exit door locked with a chain tied to the handles. Riteish pointed out that the security personnel refused to open the door even if it meant passengers missing their flight.
The point the actor was making was that in case of a fire, the locked exit gates will only lead to a tragedy.
The airport authorities responded by attributing the locked door to a “minor technical snag” and insisted that Hyderabad airport’s terminals are “safety compliant”. The tweet added that in event of an emergency, the glass doors can be broken.
