Naidu, Jagan, Pawan – the day before D-day

Wednesday, 10 April was like the day before the exam, when the candidates will be tested. So what did the candidates and the principal political players do a day before Andhra Pradesh and Telangana vote?

Chandrababu Naidu presented two contrasting sides. One was playing with grandson Devansh at his residence, a much-needed break after 110 public meetings. The photograph was tweeted by Nara Lokesh.

Then he switched gears and protested at the Chief Electoral Officer’s chambers in Vijayawada. Naidu was upset over the transfer of senior officials, that he felt was done at the behest of his political rivals, both in Andhra and in Delhi.

Nara Lokesh’s supporters distributed material in Mangalagiri and tweeted pictures of voters with the placards supporting him. But they could have shown some imagination in clicking the photographs in such a way that the same person in a blue shirt did not appear in more than one photograph.

Pawan Kalyan went to a temple with brother Nagababu soon after the campaign period was over at 5 pm on Tuesday.

Jagan’s social media team did not let the world anything about what the YSR Congress leader was up to, except a personal appeal from the YSRCP chief asking people to vote for the party.

In neighbouring Telangana, the police spent the day looking at minute details, inspecting the booths to guard against any loopholes from the security point of view.
