The campaign for the elections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is over but with much heat generated due to the very vitriolic campaign, the dust will take some time to settle down.

In the last 48 hours in particular, the political discourse has gone from bad to worse.

It started with K Chandrasekhar Rao’s prediction that Chandrababu Naidu was staring at defeat and he went on to extend his support to both the Polavaram project and Special category status for Andhra.

This seemed to have touched a raw nerve in Naidu who went on describe KCR and Jaganmohan Reddy as pet dogs of Narendra Modi. This was a very uncharacterstic Naidu as his language is not known to deteriorate like this even in the face of grave provocation.

Members of the TDP strategy team too are a bit baffled at what Naidu spoke, privately blaming some of the TDP chief’s advisors.
